Numb Tummy, and Indigestion

This is so weird. I’m sitting here in my chair, minding my own business, playing on the computer. There’s this weird, um, I don’t even know how to describe it. I guess a sort of numbing sensation low in my tummy. It only lasts for a few seconds and then goes away. This is not the first time this has happened, I’ve noticed it a few times when ( Read more... )

The numbing may be from a previous c-section? If you have never had a c-section then I have no clue what it could be.

Drinking milk helps my indigestion. Also Tums. Hope it gets better.

Nope, no babies, so no c-section. :) Thanks, I'll pick up some Tums next time I'm at the store. Dairy makes me sick, so I drink almond milk, which, naturally, I'm all out of. LOL. I guess it's time to make a grocery store run.

I've found elevating myself slightly when I sleep really helps my heartburn - I just have a big V shaped pillow with a little couch cushion under it and that raises me a little. Works wonders!

Mint tea helped me with my indigestion through the first trimester. The kind that's just pure peppermint leaves - not an herbal mix, unless you check that all the other herbs are safe for pregnancy, too.

Now that the indigestion has switched to heartburn, I'm taking Zantac every day.

In early pregnancy ONLY bland food gave me heartburn/ indigestion. The absolute worst culprit was hummus!

Once I figured that out... I mostly ate thai, mexican, etc... and other blander foods I drenched in tobasco sauce. I had no problems as long as I was eating spicy stuff. If I ate so much as a baked potato without something like salsa on it, I got miserable.

I'd experiment to see what works for you.

....sad face!

You are perhaps one of the luckiest preggos I know. I take zantac every day for my heartburn now, spicy foods are the worst for me and all I ever want anymore is mexican. It's heartbreaking.

I get a numb sensation under my right boob. I had no idea what it was until I spoke to one of my midwives and an ultrasound tech - it's the baby's foot nestling in my rib cage. Apparently it's her favorite position to rest in. And when I first started to really feel her move, it was in that same location.
I know you're only twelve weeks, so this may be your body's equivalent to the butterflies.
