I bought some gatorade tonight b/c I've had trouble staying well-hydrated the past week or so. Obviously it's not a replacement for all the water you should be drinking, but I once had a doctor "prescribe" it (he even wrote it on the prescription pad, heh) when I was severely dehydrated so I'm guessing that drinking a glass or two a day won't hurt!

Yikes- glad the little one is okay!

And yes, you need to drink TONS of water. My doctor put it this way... Baby is in an amniotic sac with a couple pounds of fluid. That fluid is continuously regenerating itself, which takes a LOT of water away from your body. Consider how much water is being dedicated just to regenerating the amniotic sac! It will regenerate no matter what, so it will 'take' the water from the mother, leaving you dehydrated.

I have carried around a waterbottle throughout most of my pregnancy, and refill it at least a couple times a day.

I'm glad you're okay. It really is easy to forget to drink as much as us preggo's need to. UTI's are awful! I've had 2 so far in this pregnancy. Hope you are feeling better.
