Would it be possible to test Tuesday night with a blood test positive with levels at 17. Then today test negative on a urine test? It was a New Choice test. I was figuring my levels had had time to rise....... I am refusing to buy anymore tests. For the majority of women, a false negative is very rare. You either have HCG in your body (which means you are pregnant) or you don't (which means you're not). I have no idea what they were testing that the level was only 17; everything I've seen related to blood testing involves numbers in the tens of thousands. The beta test should confirm it though.

It's possible to have your hCG levels measure 17 in the earliest weeks of pregnancy.

Yes. New Choice tests have a sensitivity of ~25. So if your levels are below that, it would come out negative.

Also, Dollar Tree has $1 tests and are waaaaaaaaaay more accurate than the drugstore ones.

Most pee tests have a detection limit of 25 or 50... if your betas were 17 on Tuesday night they probably wouldn't be much over 30 by now, so it would be right at the limit. Just try to be patient (I know, easier said than done) - it's only a few days before you'll know for sure or not! :)

In a typical pregnancy beta levels double every 48 hours. With a 17 on Tuesday, you're looking at 34 on Thursday; given that most urine pregnancy tests don't pick up a positive until at least 50, I'm unsurprised your urine test was negative.

Just to add a personal experience to this, I was testing negative on HPTs during the week, got a 19 on a blood test on Thursday afternoon and started testing positive on HPTs very early the following Monday. The positive result literally came up right away. I just ovulated super late that cycle and was a lot earlier along than I had initially thought.

Put down the pee sticks and wait for the appointment tomorrow, definitely.
