:) Aww. I'm glad, too. I would have gone home and read, read, read everything on it before I'd let them get their hands on me with induction and probably flat out refused it anyway.
If it's one thing I got used to during all of my births, it's having dozens of hands in my hoo-ha, lol. It's not the best feeling in the world, I'll admit, but it does become bearable.
I didn't even know that (about the 96 hours thing), thanks for telling me. If I'm in this situation then it's good to be informed :). They just don't even tell you these things.
I sound like I'm complaining about my care, which I'm not really because they were really nice...but it didn't go the way I thought it would. I thought the procedure would be explained. I thought that if there were any risks, that these would be explained...but nope. Just 'we're going to do a trace, then a speculum and cervical check.' Just assumption based stuff.
I understand why it was done, they needed to check if my waters had gone...but I still feel a bit weird about it all :(.
Well I'm not an advocate of them and after last night I'm going to definetly refuse them. Last night I felt I had no alternative because they needed to check if my waters were leaking, so it felt like a medical nessicity. As for the 'dilation' check - what a farce. I'm not for this AT ALL :(. It was good to have one, however, because it did reassure me that I could go home. But after last night I'm totally not up for that again :(.
My doctor was really good, though, and didn't use the words 'pain' or 'contraction.' And she said that just because I wasn't dilated doesn't mean I'm not progressing.
They didn't even explain what they were doing, or ask. Just assumed. I know that these things are run of the mill for the medical professionals, but it would be nice to feel like you're part of the whole process given you're the patient :).
I'm seriously considering telling them I want a homebirth :(. Their A&E dept is absolutely disgusting. The maternity unit is the cleanest part of the hospital, which says a lot because that's totally filthy :(.

I really hope it won't be much longer. Either way, my induction date is the 13th of Feb but I definetly hope and pray this won't be nessecary!
I just gritted my teeth and squeezed my husbands hand last night - lol. It was a sharp shock, but it did end a lot quicker than I thought it would.
