You know it's bad when you can't even get through the reviews...

Most of the time I see reviewers claiming a character isn't a Mary Sue is when they don't actually know what a Mary Sue is and/or they're turning a blind eye to the issues because they're enjoying the story. If you look at their profiles you also typically find they're rather young and/or have written Mary Sues themselves, so perhaps they don't want to admit they've also written a Mary Sue on the latter part.

Not that there's anything wrong with writing a Mary Sue. I learned a lot from the ones I wrote.

I'm trying to wrap my head around this one. I can easily tell the Sue adds nothing to the story beyond taking over Ron's role. (That's not a good thing.) There is no reason for her powers either.

What if her past was an even bigger secret to her then Harry's?
That's just a bad idea in general. For starters, if you have to describe your main character as "More X than character known for X", you've probably got a Sue.

Worse, the entire world is built around Harry and his secrets. It's designed for it. Trying to shoe-horn in even bigger secrets is nearly impossible to mesh in properly.

Not that it matters, since it sounds like Alexis doesn't actually have any secrets, much less ones that are "bigger" than Harry's.

I kind of like how well written it is. Sure, there are flaws...

I'm a bit confused. The grammar is far from perfect, what with the writer mixing up "since" for "sense" in just the sample I provided. There are a ton of face palm issues as well.

To be honest, I see good where people see bad. Potential where others see fail. I ddidn't mean this series doesn't have its flaws. Heck: I loved the movie Batman & Robin, but still thought some things went wrong.
