The one thing that I do not understand about this story is the fact that Harriet has to disguise herself as a boy

Harry has to disguise herself as a boy because she is taking her cousins place, and her cousin is known to be a boy by almost every member of the wizarding community. He's a famous pureblood heir.

Also, I fail to see how you can say that the boys are OOC. James is just as himself as he would be in any AU where he had to grow up and become responsible. Sirius is the same, he's not how you expect him to be because he never went to Azkaban and has a son. I believe that Remus has been captured perfectly.

In addition, canon-Harry is intelligent, he is a brilliant and powerful wizard who accomplishes things that would drive a great deal of people his age to breaking point, and he easily does well in school. Who's to say that a Harry Potter raised with loving and supporting parents wouldn't be hyper smart?

Don't misquote someone in an attempt to invalidate their argument as it only invalidates your own argument.

Also, this also isn't an AU where James grew up and became responsible, but an AU where Harry's parents lived, and he is now a she. The writer made him and Sirius responsible because they wanted him to be, not because it was logical for him and Sirus to have suddenly become responsible.

Wow, I forgot that I made this comment. I no longer go by Fleur on here anymore so I wasn't alerted to anyone replying on my response.

You said everything that I wanted to say, Pottersues. ^.^

They made James and Sirius more responsible because most people become more responsible as they mature. That's how growing up works.

I don't see how it would be possible to disguise yourself as your cousin when they're pretty much a celebrity. Harry would have to think like the cousin and know most things the cousin would know. Even if they look the part, it would be easy to spot a lie. Don't forget about special treatment. A lot of people would flock to Harry, trying to get into her cousin's inner circle, doing all sorts of favors, sweet talking, etc. There would be no way they could go anywhere without someone knowing. On top of all of this, it would not be beneficial to anyone if this was the case. With this much attention, it would be really stressful and difficult to maintain the ruse. Nothing about this makes sense ( ... )

I don't think it would be possible. The times I've seen this trope used, neither person is famous, OR the two characters are twins, but in the case of twins, they're always the same gender. And they always do get caught in the end. Looking at the profile, Harriet's gone FOUR YEARS without getting caught. While I applaud the writer's dedication to one series and a million words, it's just not realistic.

And then this.

There is a definite line between original fiction and fanfic. Fanfic is DERIVATIVE of another person's work, but this stories gotten to the point it's not derivative anymore. it's it's own thing.

For her to be successful, she needs a polyjuice potion, which isn't supposed to be a spell someone not yet at Hogwarts can use. However, I'm also not understanding why she's wanting to take such a risk. What makes Hogwarts better than any other school for secondary education? It also seems the only reason to make Hogwarts pureblood only is to cause unneeded conflict, but said conflict is never truly ever explored. Things are to easy for her. It's just there ( ... )
