The next week picked by the winner of last years contest is “special pet week”. I actually suggest caution if you click on the link for today's entry. It contains MA content and beastality. It's why I placed the LJ cut sooner. It's honestly as bad as “those”.

I wish writers wouldn't try to force inequality between men and women where it wouldn't actually be just so they can write what they feel is a pro feminist work promoting female power. It just ends up being horribly anti-pro feminist instead.
Very well said. I mean, this fic boils down to "women aren't as powerful as men, and need to get pregnant to validate themselves."

As for that Tom/Harry rant, they seem to be missing the fact that they're destined to kill each other. It's almost impossible to explore anything wihtout warping Voldemort completely out of character.

Let's not forget that the whole "men are more powerful then women" comes from the fact a mans body is built to be more powerful and they have traditionally taken on the more powerful roles, not that "all men are more powerful then all women". Women who whine about not being as powerful as men lack in power because they can't stop wallowing in self pity long enough to think about how they personally can be stronger.

The only Tom/Harry relationship that works is the kind where Tom is dominating Harry and making him his slave and then you can't say that the relationship isn't an inappropriate one.

This fic has nothing to do with making females more powerful but is the writers personal kink fest. I don't know what is more disturbing, the sex scenes or the description of a foal of all things growing in Ginny's belly. Then there is the fact all the girls are getting themselves fucked up.

As for the article... sorry, but Tom and Harry are not equals. Yes, all human beings are created equal and have equal rights, but we're talking about a different kind of equal, the "peer" type of equal.

There there is the part where they pretty much say you can't judge a ship as inappropriate because other people write it and it is all a matter of preference. They're mistaking whether a pairing would be judged as appropriate or not under moral grounds with whether a pairing has canonical basis or not. There is nothing wrong with writing a pairing that would be considered inappropriate by societies standards. Its how the writer chooses to handle the story.

Then there is this...

“Actually, you know, how is it even possible to ship two people if ( ... )

I'm not. I've talked to some Suethor's and have found plenty who mistake power for feminism and their idea of equality is not to be treated equally but to have powers that are equal or greater then that of the males... preferably greater.
