I remember in a HP site, in the comments (that I stopped reading because I have often wanted to hit something when it happens) after the first official photo of Draco in the Prisonner of Azkaban, how the fangirls cried and shouted and wailed that the stupid filmmaker didn't read the books because they changed Draco hairdo and stop the gel ( Read more... )

If you think 150 points is horrible, I remind you it's Mcgonagall who took them from her House.

I played McGonagall in a RPG once and Draco mouthed off to her, saying he wanted to be treated just like she treated the Gryffindors.

So McG took 50 points each from Draco, Crabbe and Goyle, then reduced it to 10 each because Slytherin didn't have 150 points to lose.

The resulting OOC shitstorm was a thing of beauty.

Actually, when I saw the gel and the coppery sheen it left in the first movie, I almost cried. I've always pictured Draco with a thin little face, a little too delicate and pointy to be masculine, and pale, nearly white-blond hair rather like dandelion fluff. I don't know WHY they did the Brylcreem thing, but I would have kissed Alfonso's toes for not continuing it.

Yes, I always wondered why Draco's hair was slicked back ala a 50's era greaser.

Point amounts have gone a bit crazy in fanon, haven't they? I think the most anyone looses is fifty, and Snape takes something like 2 points for "cheek". Yet in fanon it's 20 points here 50 points there and if Snape's really pissed off it's easily over a hundred.

I didn't mind the whole hair gel thing in the first movie, but you are quite correct; JKR writes no dotty descriptions of Draco Bryling down his hair. I'm not sure his hair is described at all apart from color.

ICON LOVE

I agree on the fanon extensive point taking orgies.
Besides.. the teachers do know that in the end ALbus will let win whom he wants to win..

I'm rather lurvy over your icon as well!
That Albus is a horrible cheat, isn't he? It's a wonder Slytherin ever won the house cup at all.

The only reason he let anyone else win was that he didn't have any golden boy in need of pampering.

I think they probably wanted to give Draco an old-fashioned look for the movie. The books mention that he has "sleek" hair, so perhaps people put two and two together and come up with seventy-eight. Wizards probably don't have the same sort of hair products that Muggles do, anyhow. Even fancy Lockhart mentions hair potions only. I think I'd probably think it fair enough if Draco had a bottle of the same stuff Hermione used that one time. Maybe he does - who knows? :)
