So Our fearless leader supposedly promised up to 6,000 Guard troops on the border for a year ... this'll either be really slow in coming or we'll go off half-assed and half-cocked, if we go at all. But I'll be excited if it happens. I'll get to do the job I was trained for and actually protect my country (if they issue us ammo, that is.)

So I have to go to the armory in about 10 minutes and start setting up my interstate transfer. One of the units here is deploying in August. Maybe I'll end up with them. Maybe not. I hope not. But oh well. I'll be glad to be with a new unit. An Arizona unit. The armory seems pretty laid back, everyone seems to wear a mixture of BDU's, DCU's, ACU's ( Read more... )
