Just a heads up that Kroger has whole chickens for $0.59/lb right now (which is a 50% savings) -- most range from $2.50-4.00.  My partner and I stock up every time they have this sale and freeze the chickens, they thaw wonderfully.  We manage to always have some in the freezer and not buy any other chicken.  They can be stretched REALLY far.  (And ( Read more... )

Here in the Cincinnati, OH area the Kroger Value chickens are .89/lb. The thighs and legs that are cut up on .99/lb.

I wish they were .59/lb here! Last week, though, they were .69/lb so I can't complain too much! :D

I'll have to check with ours in Georgia! I feed raw to my dogs so this would save us a good bit on their food for the week!

Btw - do you know you can load electronic coupons on the Plus card? www.shortcuts.com and also from the Kroger site you can add Proctor & Gamble coupons.

Thank you for the heads up. I had to do a double take, because I am in VA and my mom lives in Az too. LOL. Small world?

I assume you're talking about grocery stores. Around me (Albany, NY area), Kroger is a recycling contractor, and Fry's is an electronics store in California I sometimes order computer equipment from. Neither of them are places I'd want to buy chickens, especially not surprisingly cheap chickens.
