Gabi and I saw Final Fantasy and Cadence Weapon perform at the Independent last night. I decided that Cadence Weapon was skippable, but I was mistaken as the three or so songs we caught at the end of his set were great. Final Fantasy's set was fantastic. A week ago, I received my first Mac: a new 13.3" MacBook, set to replace my 15.4" Dell Pentium-M 1.6GHz boat anchor. Below are my likely to be un-original impressions, hardware-wise:

Hmm. I guess before posting my last "woe is me" entry I should have actually done a blog search. Looks like results came out a little earlier than last year: I found a couple people who got notification of acceptance or alternate status several days ago. Now I can rest easy and concentrate on my thesis.

It's been a while since I updated this.

In December, I applied for an NSF fellowship that would pay me to spend 8 weeks in Australia, China, Japan, Korea, or Taiwan doing academic research (in my case, computer science).
