Michelle Obama came and spoke at my school on Thursday. I didn't know she was coming until the day before. Fortunately, I didn't have class at the time and was able to go.

When she was done I felt like I could go out and do anything.

Now that's what I call motivation.

Life is tough.

But there is beauty.

I finally finished the Golden Compass last week. In an attempt to see what all the excitement was around the movie I figured I should probably read the book. Whatever huge issue people were having with it must come in a later book in the series, because I thought the GC was just another good fantasy novel. Sometimes I wish my life would work like a romantic comedy. That there would be the perfect balance of humor and heartache, but in the end everyone's happy and the hero falls helplessly in love with the leading lady. I almost just posted a lot of emotional vomit.

Optimisim. Love. Joy. Patience. Willingness. Friendship. Confidence.

These are the things I want to strive for or continue to improve in my life during the comming year. I ask you all to keep me cognizant of those goals and remind me when I stray off track.

Bring on '08. I think I'm ready.... or at least trying to be!!
