mmm, i'd love to see what you might do with regulus/narcissa, even in just a couple lines.

wizards explain the universe with stories, myth is understanding and so if you stopped a wizard on the street and asked him what stars are made of he'd laugh & say something fanciful like cotton candy. you don't go to wizards for what things are, but you can go to them for what they mean. so even if they don't know the speed of light in a vacuum, every wizard knows the myth of narcissus. and this is why narcissa doesn't allow mirrors in her house and casts spells on the ponds so that they don't reflect her. the first time she manages it she's sixteen and sirius accuses her of being a vampire ( ... )

!!!

oh, that is just. mmm. [sirius accuses her of being a vampire.] even in just a few words, that's so wonderfully sirius, ridiculous and brash. and [they look a little like the beginnings of a constellation.] has just a taste of hope, of something more. lovely. ♥

I'm always so excited whenever someone new gets into Firefly! The film is apparently coming out in the UK on 7 October. There have been screenings in the US but it's not out here yet either. In the meantime you might want to check out the R. Tam sessions, which are clips being leaked to the internet (not from the movie) for marketing, and they're very sad and creepy.

For fic I like Academies (and all pearl-o's Firefly fic), Of History (Zoe's relationships with Wash and Mal), Tetchy, and the three here.

Ahem.

Prompt: Ginny/Tom Riddle?

oooh, thanks for the links, and i might have cheated in the drabble :D pogrebin September 2 2005, 01:30:36 UTC
When Voldemort meets Ginny Weasley, standing a step behind Harry and flanked by Death Eaters, there's a moment where Harry thinks he's going to say something stupid. But then, of course, Voldemort says, "Kill them." Which, Harry supposes, is a bit stupid. Inconvenient, possibly, would express his feelings more precisely. There's an expression on Ginny's face that's mingled pity and shame, a kind of hotness behind her ears that Harry's only seen a few times. And most of those weren't the kind he'd really like to associate with imminent gruesome death. That's the point at which he realises that he's misread the situation and the person about to say something stupid is Ginny. Ginny, who says, "You're not beautiful any more."

Which gives Voldemort pause. But only a short pause. "I am feared, however."

"I do not fear you."

Voldemort glances at Harry before smiling softly, stroking the tip of his wand. "That is no matter, little girl," he says. "You will die anyway."

This is utterly wonderful. Harry noticing her look, and its implications, Voldemort acknowledging her -- ! You always do Tom SO well, in all his forms. And I love this Ginny.

The Firefly movie doesn't even come out in the States until Sept. 30.

My recs page is here. Will be updated in a few hours.

And I'm actually proud of my fic in the Firefly 'verse.

Am hoping to polish my dark AU and post it tonight. Do you have comments/suggestions/whatever you wanna make before I post it?

Am so glad you love the show.

I wasn't sold on the Sean Maher hotness particularly watching the show, but then I saw the Whedoncest Lifetime Original Movie The Dive from Clausen's Pier and omg teh sex.

I linkage like whoa. See also my joked destiny as a reference librarian. I hope you find fic you like.

I posted my darkfic last night, and I've lost track of how many edits happened between the version you read and the version I posted, but feedback is always loved.

The Dive From Clausen's Pier stars Michelle Trachtenberg (Dawn on BtVS Season 5-7) and Sean Maher. It's based on a book which is supposedly very good, though I felt like "Gee, I read this Sweet Valley High book years ago." Carrie (MT) is drifting away from her high school sweetheart when he is paralysed in a diving accident. She runs away to NYC where she meets Sean Maher (named, unfortunately to my mind, Kilroy). They have lots of sex and I lusted after SM like whoa. I even totally fell for his chcaracter. I think the ending is piss-poor, but the rest of the movie is pretty decent, and of course there is teh pretty.

Dark Angel, anything Ben centric, perhaps?

Oh my god.

I love this -- the lyricism of it and the juxtaposition between the barcodes and wounds and the sheer imagery. asfdjkl; *has no more words*

X-595 had really liked Manticore, until his genetic twin went and screwed it all up. (Dark Angel *g*)

I have no fic recs, unfortunately, because I pretty much avoid reading most Firefly fic like the plague. I love the series too much.

Hee! That'd be, IIRC, Alec. 594 should have been Ben. Of course, I could be remembering the 5 and the 4 backwards... But!
