You know - until you mentioned that, I never really connected the parallels between SPN's angels with the cylons... All intent aside... They are basically all children throwing the mother-of-all tamper tantrum to destroy humanity because of God/father/parental-issues... :3 Welp. With both of them being horribly, ironically, significantly representative of the best and worst of "human nature" without even realizing it while attempting to maintain/retain some sense of difference/superiority.

Yes! That question of group/individual is very similar with the angels and the Cylons, I think, and in terms of how they negotiate being members of a power structure and in some cases being desirous of changing that structure is very similar, and in how they relate to humanity and their power over it
