Sometimes I honestly, 100% am afraid that I'm just a completely self-absorbed, uncomprehending jerk. That I'm one of those people who doesn't have the ability to be empathic or helpful in any way. I'm always reminded that's not true by stupid things. For example, my mom really wanted a particular pair of boots for Christmas. She finally found them ( Read more... )

JEREMY? CAN YOU DO JEREMY FOR THE MEME? (Because Jeremy is also my favorite and hot damn I love him.)

Also I'd be interested in hearing about Josh from West Wing. And. Ianto. And. I will stop now.

I'm totally going with George from Being Human (totally saw that you watch in one of your posts *is not a stalker*). I was going to say Ianto, but I can't help feeling like that's totally unoriginal on my part as much as I love seeing other people gush about him. =P

I know what you mean re: feeling like that over small things. You want "crazy"? I still worry that my mom's feelings were hurt when I was a kid - first because on Hiking Day she didn't want to go hiking with myself, dad and my siblings; and again when we were taking a helicopter ride and there was only room for four people. Turns out she didn't have an interest in either, but I still worried (a) that she came out of the house ready to hike after we'd already left, and (b) that she was bitterly disappointed that she couldn't go on the helicopter ride.

These things happened more than 10 years ago. They and other piddly little things clog my brain from time to time. So, by my standards you're perfectly normal. =P

I WILL DO BOTH. Because I'm like that. It will probably take two comments XD But, before I do that, I'm glad I'm not the only person who angsts over hurting their parents over stupid shit ♥

1) What is your opinion of this character? If you like, explain why you like him/her.
My opinion of George is that HE IS MY BEING HUMAN BB. He's my favorite. I love him. I love his stupid face and his stupid squeaky voice and his stupid ideals and his stupid repression and every stupid bit of him XD

2) Is he/she important to the general plot?
Totes! It's all about George, Mitchell, and Annie, man. Even once Nina factors in, it revolves around those three for me.

3) Can you relate to this character at all? Does he/she grip you emotionally?Sort of? I mean, I can relate to the "awkward nerd stuck in a job they're too smart for" bits. Not so much on the werewolf front XD But I completely find George emotionally gripping. The pain he goes through when he turns Nina? How he ties himself up in knots over Annie and George? Oh, he breaks my heart ( ... )

1) What is your opinion of this character? If you like, explain why you like him/her.
MY OPINIONS ON IANTO: LET ME SHOW YOU THEM. Ianto is my favorite. My favorite on the show, one of my favorite characters ever. Why do I like him? Well, I can relate to him. I liked his wit, I liked that he could keep up with the team, I liked that he felt so deeply and fucked up and was eventually able to move on. I loved him, man. I still do. Half of that I have to put down to GDL. He was given a role with little to no actual character and managed to convey emotion and backstory and all sorts of things just by tone and delivery and facial expressions alone. Ianto is perpetually fucked up and tragic. He's never going to be a normal twenty-five year old. He's never going to have a normal life. Everything he touches turns to shit, but he still gets out of bed every day and tries to make the world a better place.

2) Is he/she important to the general plot?
Apparently not as much as we originally thought :\

6) Is there anything about the character you would change?
I would completely erase CoE. Well. Not completely. Rhiannon and co can stay.

7) If you were in the fandom with this character or knew this character in real life, how would you see yourself interacting with him/her? Would you get along well? Fall in love with him/her? Dislike? Have a friendly rivalry?
I'd like to think that if we knew each other socially or professionally, we'd be friends! I can't imagine we'd be rivals. But I think, more realistically, we'd both be too quiet and invisible to notice each other.

8) Does this character make the cut as one of your all time favorites (if you like) or least favorites?
Yes. He 100% does.

9) Would you hype up this character (if you like) or warn about this character (if you dislike) to someone new to fandom?
Um, I have totally hyped Ianto up to people already. He's my bb.

10) Is this character popular with the fanbase?
Ahahaha, yes. Although, I'm noticing a kind of depressing trend of it being cool to hate on Ianto now :\ I'm ( ... )

Nope, doesn't sound crazy at all... I can only do empathy in fits and spurts, too, and the little things I hold on to and agonize over are truly epic. Anyway.

Danny. <3 <3 <3 <3

Hm... CJ Cregg.

1) What is your opinion of this character? If you like, explain why you like him/her.
BURTON GUSTER: MY FAKE TEEVEE HUSBAND. What is NOT to like about Gus?! He's adorable and hilarious and long-suffering and nerdy and the best ever ♥

2) Is he/she important to the general plot?
Hells yeah! He's one of the leads, obvs! "Gus, don't be the only black lead on a major cable network."

3) Can you relate to this character at all? Does he/she grip you emotionally?
I can definitely relate to Gus in some ways--neurotic, nerdy, over-arching desire to be awesome at a job, long-suffering, eternal sidekick--but I like to think I'm not as uptight as he is. Also, aside from the occasional scene between Gus and Shawn about the strength of their friendship (which are always riveting and awesome and wonderful), Gus doesn't get a lot of the emotional bits. Which is tragic. So I can't really say he's emotionally gripping, but that doesn't make me love him any less.

4) How much do you like the fandom that this character comes from?Psych the show is the ( ... )
