Watari spent more time in the lab than he did in his room or out among the rest of the population of Pluto IX. He enjoyed the quiet, the fact that he didn't have to beg for funding, and the occasional presence of his assistant, Birkin. 003 perched on his shoulder, as usual, while 001 and 002 observed one of the machines running behind him. Watari had careful notes to prepare on the efficiency of most of the new computer parts he'd appropriated when inserted into a miniature version of Meifu's supercomputer

Hisoka quite firmly told himself he didn't visibly startle when he was buzzed in, but he suppressed it for the most part. It irritated him in a way he couldn't quite describe that he couldn't shake off his distaste of this place. At least there was a little more familiarity inside, Watari's apparent efforts at making himself at home gave it touches of a place that wasn't some bizarre probable death trap floating in space

The latest simulated build beeped its completion behind him. Watari reached back to shut the sound off and took mental note to compile the next batch of data later and compare it to everything else he'd worked on. Every batch of data would mean a better system when then returned home. Not if, when. Watari forced himself to be optimistic on that point.
"My lab's not creepy like some of them are!" Watari pointed in the general direction of Norman's lab, knowing that Hisoka would be able to feel whatever weird emotions that particular scientist left with him wherever he went. 003 hooted contently at the attention from Hisoka even as her owner took a seat on a stool and pointed at the second nearby.
He grinned at the words. "We haven't spoken since shortly after you had some trouble with your ability. And even that wasn't about anything relating to the other weird things on board." Watari had followed them, of course, although he hadn't been able to give Hisoka more than the private message board conversations between Muraki and Katze.
Hisoka's eyes followed the gesture before he looked very pointedly back at the other shinigami. There was something clearly wrong with some of the people that worked in this place, and he really didn't want to dwell on it. The slight tightening of his expression, decidedly uncomfortable, was all the confirmation Watari would ever need that he wasn't alone in his opinion.
"...we spoke?" he asked as he took a seat, visibly startled by that. He didn't really remember much of what had gone on in the few days after the strange incident when everything had gone horribly awry, though he faintly recognized the fact that he'd woken up halfway out of it as if ill. That he'd apparently been coherent enough to hold a conversation without quite remembering it made him wary of what he might have said, however. "When?"
Opinion noted and filed away in the complicated mess otherwise known as Watari's mind. He could read Hisoka's expressions fairly well by now, although he wasn't as good with it as Tsuzuki.
"We spoke briefly the morning after things calmed down. You were amazed mine was affected too, we both expressed relief that Tatsumi-san hadn't been around to have his shadows lose control, and I told you to go back to sleep." There wasn't much behind those words, they were a simple statement of fact.
"Have you learned anything about Muraki's injury? It's strange that a man like him was hurt and there was no body found."
