Who: Elphaba and Ford Where: Elphie's room, and probably somewhere else When: A day after this What: Elphie is determined to stay away from Ford... Let's see how long that lasts.
Ford ate breakfast in the cafe, then went upstairs to see if Elphaba felt like doing something fun. Driving, maybe. Ford hadn't taken anyone driving in a while.
He always had felt a stronger kinship with the non-humans in the hotel.
Elphaba jumped at the knock. Then she heard the voice. Her heart fluttered once, twice, then sank down into the region of her stomach. Hadn't she JUST resolved not to see him again. "I'm not in" she called. Because that was totally going to work.
"HHHHOOOOOOOPPPPPPPYYYYYYYYYYY!!!! HOOPY HOOPY HOOPY!" shrieked Chistery. And before Elphaba could stop him, Chistery flew to the door and opened it...
"We should go to the bar first, since you seem to need a drink," Ford said logically. "Then we'll go outside. I can show you the hoverskiff on the way to choose a car to go out in."
"And how can you tell I need a drink?" she asked. The flirtation just slipped out. She didn't even know she could flirt... especially with how confused she was. She quickly looked for Chistery and called him over. Then she kept her eyes trained on teh ground as she headed to the stairs. "Car? as in a train car?" she asked, unfamiliar with the term.
"Well, yes... but alcohol doesn't usually aid in the defeat of dehydration" she quipped back. "We only have train cars where I'm from. And carriages. Broom is definitely the quickest way to travel, but then I'm the only one who can." She purposely didn't mention Nor who originally figured out the broom's secret.
"Oh," he said, drinking the other hypervodka. "You'll just feel kinda cool and froody and then we'll go for a drive," he explained as though it were the most reasonable thing in the world.
"'Barely alive'?" Ford said. "I know exactly what I'm doing, thank you. I destroyed one of the cars in there and I was perfectly fine afterwards!"
He waited until she closed the door and then took off again.
"Watch this," he told her, speeding towards the horizon at the vehicle's maximum speed.
As soon as the hotel disappeared from his rearview mirror, it reappeared over the horizon in front of them. He didn't slow down, instead swerving wildly as they approached the building, just missing a corner of it.
He laughed. "You can do that all day!" he told her. "It's always there no matter what direction you go in!"
Elphie braced herself the moment she had closed the door. This time, she was prepared for the lurch as the car shot forward. She allowed herself to relax a bit and enjoy the thrill that was coursing through her system. That is, until he went straight for the hotel. She covered her eyes with her hands and didn't uncover until she had counted to 20... figuring that was as much time as it would take to hit the structure. They hadn't! She let out a whoop of laughter and turned to Ford, "You're really good at this!" Nice and eloquent...
Spacehopper... some sort of travel in the skies... right. Elphie didn't have much else to say. The thrill of riding this fast in a vehicle along with Ford was enough for her brain to take in at the moment, so she just sat back and enjoyed it.

He knocked on her door.
"Hello?" he called.

He looked over at her. "And you said you were dehydrated," he pointed out.
