Elphie fell asleep almost immediately when she came back to her room from meeting Jack. She dreamt about the Kumbric Witch emerging from Saint Aelphaba's waterfall and melting, and then Saint Aelphaba coming to save the people. Dreams twisting and intertwining the mythology from her homeworld. Lurline bestowing the gift of sentience on the Animals and the Moon blocking Elphaba's way out of a cave. Then Ford's face popped up.
Elphaba woke with a start. One thing she knew for certain: she could never see Ford again. She had to squash any feelings she may have for him. She pulled back the curtains trying to decide if it was the same day or a new day, then went to the water closet to get a glass of water.
