I use sold listings all the time to value cards. I would think for a plush as rare as this one that it would be good to know what it last sold for, but I wouldn't trust it to be a valid current price. Your guess is as good as mine though. Some people are very particular about getting things for exactly what they want to pay. (I am just not with Pokémon or rare items!) It seems kind of rude to me to demand the sold listing, but I can see the importance of not wanting to spend too much extra on an already expensive plush.

I pretty much see it as this, like sometimes I ask or check because it's already hard trying to find certain items when they are expensive and it's even worse to have someone jack up the price to sell it (which is totally their right to do) but sometimes people don't have that kind of money especially when the item they want they can probably find cheaper. I try not to be rude about it or anything, but I just want to know for my general knowledge so I can go find it somewhere else etc.

I usually tell people how much I got it for when I'm selling but I'm also just trying to find stuff good homes instead of make a profit so I don't really care.

I can't be certain if it was the case of buying or selling since they didn't seem interested in anything besides just finding the listing/price, but my main concern is how much effort was put in to try and find it if (assuming) there wasn't any interest in buying/selling.

It was actually about the lottery cushion I mentioned I bought in my previous post, but I'm not sure if it was wanting to know about current prices. They never expressed any interest in buying it, or even in it, they just wanted to know the price. If they actually put that much effort to try and find that listing and the price, I have to wonder what that's for. And I know it would require effort to find that listing since I had to flip a lot of pages until I found it as well.

When I got my rare pokedoll I had people ask me how much I paid too. I think most of the time it's just out of curiosity. I check sold listings for Pokemon Plush everyday lol. Most of the time I don't go searching for what a certain comm member paid for a plush unless I'm looking for one and trying to see how much they usually go for.

Yeah, that's what I'm saying. You wouldn't really go looking into how much a comm member paid for unless you have some interest in that item as well. I'm not assuming if they were or weren't interested, I'm just seeing what other reason there is IF they weren't interested.

I've been asked how much I paid for some of my items, I'm generally not bothered if people want to know but I can understand if people don't want to say at the same time, it can be classed as private for a lot of people. (hence why places like ebay have privatised usernames) there's been cases of people bidding to spite others based on who was bidding because of one reason or another. (this has happened to me but I just went "meh" and glossed over it ( ... )

I do it sometimes, but only so I know what to expect to pay for an item I really want to have. Or if I'm going to try and make an offer on something I'll try to check to avoid making an offer too low. I don't necessarily go out of my way to find exact prices, but I do like to at least have an idea of a price to avoid any trouble.
