I've been asked how much I paid for some of my items, I'm generally not bothered if people want to know but I can understand if people don't want to say at the same time, it can be classed as private for a lot of people. (hence why places like ebay have privatised usernames) there's been cases of people bidding to spite others based on who was bidding because of one reason or another. (this has happened to me but I just went "meh" and glossed over it)

I don't really see any harm in it personally (searching for how much the item was won or asking how much) they could either be curious to see how much it went for, for the future or seeing what kinda profit the seller is making from it. I know a few people who collect amiibos and they straight up refuse to buy off scalpers because they don't like the morale of buying something for retail/a certain price then raising the price up like x10, which can be understood as well. It could be anything but yeah different opinions on different things, both can be understood. That's what I can think of anyway why people might ask~
