due South seems to be experiencing a sizable fannish resurgence lately, at least in my small corner of LJ. I can name offhand at least a dozen people (including myself) who have either discovered the show within the past month or two, or plan to start watching in the near future ( Read more... )

My poor lonely one vote goes in the "never watched dS before" category. Hee. I'll pimp it on my flist, since I know there are a couple of folks there who will watch/have watched the show.

I think in general it's a terrific idea. For myself, though, I have no idea when I'd watch the show--I'm probably not even going to get to Doctor Who until the SciFi channel hiatus, and I'd have to borrow the DVDs...

Oh hey, that's totally okay. Saying you're interested in the idea doesn't mean we're gonna make you start watching NOW. :) When you eventually get around to picking up the show, you can just join the comm then. You can post about past episodes way after their week is over. As long as you think it's something you might wanna participate in at some point in the future, that's all I need to know!

And when you need those DVDs, just holler. ;)

I would do this, but only if we started with the third season. I'm strictly a Fraser/RayK person and don't really want to discuss the first two seasons. But, you start with BDTH, and I'm there.

I think it would be better to start at the beginning and go all the way through. Of course, anyone could participate or not during any given season.

Exactly - people can come and go as they please. It's only fair to try and include the entire run of the show.

Well, to be honest, that's not gonna happen, as it would shut a lot of dS fans out. But it doesn't mean you can't wait for - what, 41 weeks? - until we get to BDtH, and then join the discussion. That's perfectly acceptable!

I'm 100% firm on starting with the pilot, though.
