Beautiful sunrise

On this dark Election Day

Red, White and too Blue

Spring’s first green now gold

Summer off to cool its heels

And one dead robin

My neck was an axel
As I twisted my shirt
To face in the right direction

My neck gave a crack
As I twisted my head
To relieve the tight tension

My neck was a swivel
As I looked around
To find slippers for my feet

My neck had a kink
As I’d slept on it wrong
My mind swimming from the heat

When chlorophyll leaves

Leaves reveal their true colors

Just before they fall

No more dragonflies

Resigned bulrushes rustle

Longing for next spring

Silent shadows
Creepy feeling
Neck hairs rising
Mind starts reeling

Darkness closing
Ever nearer
Chest growing tight
Each breath dearer

Broken windows
Winds are blowing
Trees are swaying
Pale moon glowing

Sudden thumping
Something unseen
Chilling the air
It’s Halloween

It’s sad
In a way
Being
Obsessed with

Being
Somewhere else
Some-when else
Someone else

Instead of
Being
Happy in
Being
Here and now

Chilly slate-sky morning

Then a lone seagull

Change is on the wind

Reddish-yellow fluttering

The first falling leaf
