OMGorsh this rain is glorious! It smells wonderful and feels great! I can feel my corner of the world giving a big sigh of relief and comfort. It has been dryer than I have ever seen it in this area in my ... um ... 31(?) years of living here. Things just crackle and fall apart when you touch them, especially nylon rope. Today maybe. But not before this rain came in, right?

I was just out in it, only the surface of the ground is wet. You can kick the top layer of sand over with your toe, and it is dry as a bone just a fraction of an inch under the surface. Still need a ton of rain to be where we should be right now.

We have had LOADS of rain in December and January. This is the wettest winter we have seen since I moved to Oregon. Too bad we can't share.

Wow!! Then, why do you have burn bans?

We have had only 2 small sprinkles since before Thanksgiving.

It's raining here as well. Despite having a couple light rains in the past couple of weeks we are still under a burn ban over here too. But this constant rain is so nice. :)

Yes, the burn bans here are Statewide, regardless of rain in the area.

We should have around 2 feet of snow here at this time but instead it's raining, go figure and most of the snow is gone too.

It'll be ice tonight, so I'm thinking 1 drink then soda. Ummm yeah I'll be driving later, I'm going to listen and dance to Dave Steffen again :D

Dancing is what is needed right now.
