I started a big long post a few days ago but never got around to finishing it and now too much time has gone by and I'm too lazy to try to pick up where I left off.  So (in bullet point):

Really lovely day yesterday!  Though I admit we were exhausted by the time we got home.  The kids and i took a taxi (and D cycled) to the train station down in Malcha.  The old train station in town still exists, but hasn't been used in years, though the old tracks have been made into a kind of boardwalk/cycle path.  We made the train in good time ( Read more... )

Today I finally went to see someone else I haven't seen since 2009.  He's a middle aged crusty bookseller I've known for 20 years - I used to sit in his shop and read for hours until he informed me that I was reading his books for free and should at least be tidying the shelves a bit before I sit down and make myself comfortable.  I eventually ( Read more... )

Been here nearly two weeks, so it's probably time to start writing about what we've been doing.  All in all, our days haven't been terribly exciting, but we *have* been finding our feet and getting settled, so that's something.

Another long, long day.  J managed to sleep all night without turning his light out and playing, but I must be so used to getting up at that ungodly hour that I couldn't get back to sleep. I went down to the study with my laptop and did some internet, then crawled back into bed around 6.  D, only half awake, snuggled up to me.  It was lovely :-)
