It occurs to me to wonder if they have a fax machine. And if you have (or can find cheaply) a fax machine.

Faxing them is a bit harder to ignore, and with many fax machines, you can print a log of what got sent when (ie sent X pages to AAA-EEE-XXXX at hh:mm on mm/dd/yy)

Walking in to the place next visit with a log of faxes that weren't responded too might prove *very* interesting.

Heck, start asking the receptionist for her name and writing down her name along with the date, time and what you did and what she said. Bring the resulting log page with you or mail a copy to someone in authority along with a complaint about the receptionist.

People like that deserve to get their own chronic medical condition and find out first-hand what it's like...

*hugs*

[For some reason I don't seem to have an 'angry' icon, so have Kutner and Taub being pwned by House, lol]

This is perfect for that LJ community "Dear Stupid". I think that is what it's called. Nothing but rants, so wonderful! I am rubbish at links, sorry.

I have many family members in the medical industry, and I know they struggle with the balance of scheduled appointments vs. giving proper time to each patient and every question, regardless of the "schedule" (so they are often running late or getting yelled at for not bum-rushing the last patient to stay on the hour), but even THEY agree, bullshit attitudes and negligence at the front desk only hurts things all round. I tend to rant and make a nuisance of myself as well because I can't seem to crack their apathetic shell otherwise. There is not enough money in the world to lure me into that field, any part of it.

I can be quite patient with truly "busy", but I get enraged with negligence and indifference from the front desk, when they are the ears and eyes for the people who actually do anything remotely medical.
