Ashitaka was walking the halls, again. He was a little out of himself after the blackout. Staying still was not something he was fond of, so he was moving. The Ring... it was not a scenery he was probably ever going to get used to.

Footsteps had his attention as they rounded a corner. An unfamiliar and oddly clothed man came into view. Ashitaka stopped, his eyes on him, alert. "Ah, hello."

The young man in robes Dexter saw was definitely not anyone he'd be used to seeing. He looked to be in his late teens, and a little older than Jeremie. For a beat, he considered the Passenger's thoughts and feelings--but there was nothing coming from it.

Determined Dexter had made a complete stop and showed the young man a casual smile. "Hello there. Nice day, isn't it?" Maybe it was not the best way to greet someone in an unusual place such as the Ring, but nothing else exactly came to mind.

Briefly stopping to say hello to this guy wasn't seen as a hindrance, not at all. Overall running into another new person wasn't necessary at this point, but he could multitask! Besides, making a new friend to help build his confidence when it came to coming back to the Ring would be good for him. To stay open minded and try to make do with anyone and anything around him was something he did on daily basis, to remain to appear "normal".

Nothing wrong here! Dexter's just a regular guy, somebody most wouldn't think twice about. That's right ( ... )

"Yes." Ashitaka smiled wanly but warmly back. His voice was pleasant and he also decided being friendly was certainly not a bad thing. "It would be nicer if the day could come in here." he much preferred the outside, which was where he was headed.

He wanted to remain busy in any way that was helpful but for the time being he had come into nothing. Between training with Dick and being outside there was... well, more of the same. Well, there was the odd newcomer he helped around the complex, to the best of his abilities. Perhaps this man was one of them?

"Ah, have you been here very long?"

"How very true. To feel some warm sunlight on your skin and hear the birdies sing. There's nothing that's got a more placid and safer feeling." Dexter was of course only playing along, but there was some truth to what he said. Being in the actual outside, let alone the familiar sights and smells of Miami, would help him feel so much more at ease, and maybe settle down the Dark Passenger too, for only Dexter could hear it moaning from the backseat of his mind ( ... )
