It's surprisingly challenging to date when you have no faith in humanity, you don't smoke, rarely visit bars, and your profession (or hobby) is 95% male. The first date is reasonably easy but I always want to gnaw my arm off after the first hour.

Turns out the monitor was dying. Boo.

So I replaced it, with a slick 19" LCD on sale from a local chop shop...but there's one irritating problem. The stand is cheap plastic and doesn't absorb shocks. The desk wobbles and bounces a fair bit as I type, and all this is amplified by the cheap monitor stand. Boo.

Boo.
