OK, re: the I Am Adam Lanza's Mother kerfuffle. I think it was a very important piece to give a voice to parents who are dealing with the VERY REAL cases of childhood mental illness in this country. She is obviously struggling, as are thousands of other parents, and those parents need our sympathy and support, not hate and doubt. But I also agree ( Read more... ) -

I have decided that legwarmers have been unfairly maligned in the past, and I am glad they appear to be resurgent. They totally do actually keep your legs warmer!

Sitting shiva for Sendak and Yauch. Really way way too overaffected by both deaths. It's unseemly, how sad I am. It's like my childhood and adolescence both died within three days. And adulthood fucking sucks. So.
