Christmas, January, part February in pictures

Salamanca
Last weekend was a "puente" or long weekend, thanks to September 8 being a holiday (I'm still not sure what for). Marion and I decided to visit Salamanca. It's a city of a similar size to Oviedo, about 225,000. It's about 200km from Madrid and 313km from Oviedo. It's famous for being a "university town" and having two cathedrals ( Read more... ) -
More on yesterday's hike
As I mentioned yesterday I did a hike to Pico La Loral with Marian, another auxiliar. Here is a bit more detail about the day. Map of track on RunkeeperWe met in the main street of Oviedo at 8:45 (very civilised time, I thought). The group had a small bus which cost 12€. Very reasonable and a great convenience. Asturias, two months in
Well not all that much has changed since my one month update. The weather finally kicked into proper autumn mode (RIP, veroño). By the 6th November there was some snow on just a couple of the surrounding mountains. The first week was rough but now the central heating has kicked in it's more than bearable.
