JUST TO SUCK SOME MISERABLE CHEAP CIGAR AND THE BASTARDS WON'T SEE ME

I didn't get cast in the play for which I auditioned on Monday. To be fair, there were only two female parts, and one of them was very minor (oh, guess what? It was written by a man, what a fucking surprise). Obviously, about 20 women turned up (and this was just the first audition), compared to about half as many men. So I'm not bitter or anything ( Read more... )

*shakes tiny fist*
Those BASTARDS don't know what they passed up!!

Good luck with the extra stuff, and/or the work with the kiddies. And - yay! - I learned a new British word (creche)! ;D

Thank you! If all else fails, I can live on my overdraft and loan. Lalala. Go away, reality, I don't need you.

I didn't realise creche was an English thing. Frankly, most people over here have no clue what I mean either. Or they say "you mean the nursery?". Of course I do! It's a synonym!

You want to pretend for a living?
The theatre is no place for anyone who likes joy.
You should work with the younguns. Teach them how to be a fine upstanding citizen. They're our future, you know.

It's all I'm fit for. I can't mend things or heal people or build things or invent things or anything useful. I can't even do sports.

Remember you're talking to a curmudgeon-but I think you probably just haven't found your PURPOSE yet.
Acting is hard, hard desperate work. I'll leave out the long details of how I came to that conclusion.
You'll probably stumble on a talent at the strangest moment.
(Curmudgeon cheerleading-how uplifting, AMIRITE?)

I'm not good at anything but remembering facts and obscure details.
However, in a stroke of luck, I am an amazing typist and have great organizational skills.
So glad I took that course Sophomore year-gave me something to fall back on.

Bummer. Twenty-plus years later, I'm still annoyed at not getting parts in high-school. Hence the karaoke thing most likely. Good luck on the creche job.

Thanks! I'm going to see them on Tuesday, so we'll see.

There are plenty more plays, so I'll give it another go.
