Pointless post

I've got a big kind of circular purple-green bruise on the back of my hand now. I don't know whether I should be worried about it or not. It's probably fine, though.

Withnail & I is on at the Cornerhouse tomorrow, so I'm going to see that with dad, and possibly Kitten. I last watched it about a month ago, or possibly a bit less, but I've never seen ( Read more... )

Withnail & I's on tomorrow in our local as well, leading me to wonder if half the nation are going to be watching it at the same time.

I wonder what the implications of that would be? It might rain whiskey or something.

Alternatively, It might just be awesome.

We might reach out and feel hundreds of kindred spirits (cue joke about whiskey again here). Or just be bloody pleased to see it on the big screen at last. I'm oddly excited about this.

Me too. I hope it gets applauded, I've been to two films where that's happened, and this one deserves it more than most.

What if everybody recited the Hamlet speech along with REG?

It is normal to have a bruise after a drip. No worries.

Colds = evil. I'll send you healing hipping vibes.

Aw, thank you. And thanks for the information too, I thought it might be because I pulled it out myself (I know, how very Roy Cohn of me).

How's it going?

You pulled it out yourself? Good god. You're lucky you didn't spurt blood all over the place.

Oh, or did you? Is there a story behind this? Or should I not ask?

No, it was totally fine. I mean, there was a little bit, but it just kind of smudged, and then somehow I found a bathroom and washed it off. I was pretty careful about it, for a drunk person who'd just woken up.

Maybe I'm some kind of drip-pulling-out prodigy. Maybe it's my sekrit talent.

Gah, it seems like half the people on my flist are sick, plus myself. I'm sitting here right now with a teddy-bear print heat pack on my head. Adaptation is something I've been meaning to see because everyone in the universe has except me and thinks it's amazing.

LJ is crazy. Sometimes it seems like everyone's in a bad mood, sometimes everyone's ill, sometimes nobody can sleep. Maybe we all have some kind of telepathic connection.

Okay, fine, probably not.

Adaptation is fantastic. I cried about three times, which is once or even twice more than I usually cry at films (I'm a weeper, and I'm not ashamed). It has Meryl Streep in it, whom I love, and it's hilariously self-referential, and... just... watch it, it's great.

Hope you feel better!

It's great to see a movie you already love on the big screen. I liked "Adaptation," although two Nick Cages is a bit much for any movie.

Oh, my God. It was incredible. I can't even describe it without being vaguely obscene about it. Have you seen Paul McGann's eyes up close, for one thing? Sweet fancy Moses.

I don't mind the Cage, actually. During my bizarre adolescent crush on Joaquin Phoenix I watched 8mm about thirteen times, so I guess I kind of became inured to him. And he was actually surprisingly likable in The Weatherman. I mean, given that he was playing a really unsympathetic character.

I have a schizophrenic relationship w/Mr. Cage---serious lust from his appearance in "Valley Girl" especially the scene where he and punk-gal are going at it in a bathroom...serious trauma from "Leaving Las Vegas," although it's not his fault that I watched it the same night as "Showgirls."

So. This punk-gal. Is she hot? Because I... might have a thing about punks. A little tiny bit.
