Seeing as I have actually written some of the drabbles I promised, and I have just finished an essay and feel tired but relatively happy, I thought I'd post the ones I'd done. So here they are!
I'm really glad you like it! I wasn't sure it would be angsty enough for you, but that was just the way it came out. I wrote something else for the prompt at first, but it was awful, it had an extended metaphor about the tide in it, so I started again.
Yeah, I kind of saw it as him deciding that the only way he could make a relationship work was if it wasn't really a relationship. Which is pretty sad. Also, I like complicating Wilson, playing with making him a more stand-offish partner and things, so I enjoyed writing it. It's funny, with Wilson, because I identify with him an awful lot, but people so often write him as being very demonstrative in the relationship, and House as keeping more of an emotional distance, but observing House with Stacy and thinking about Wilson's marriages, as well as my own behaviour when it comes to relationships, that doesn't always ring true for me. Although you always project your own baggage on to fictional characters, I guess, so it's probably a subjective thing.
