We've had two trips to Mayo in the past two weeks and have received both good news and inconclusive news. Good news: surgical site (Athena's old quarters) is healing, and PET scans show old cancer sites are dark. I'm glad there's still hope on the horizon. What happened to Rob's feet from his prior treatments?

I'm thinking of you, as always; you are welcome to vent via email if you need to.

It's called 'peripheral neuropathy' and it's damage to the nerves from chemotheraphy. It can manifest as tingling, numbness, loss of feeling or pain in hands and feet. It's extremely irksome for Rob, as he has to be on his feet at work.

Thank you. I was thinking just today I should email, but I felt a little too harassed to manage it. I filed for unemployment today, I just got a financial aid form from Delia's college to fill out (with supporting documentation) for the change in our financial circumstances, I have to figure out health insurance for next year, and I have to apply for these cancer grants. Besides, you know, find a job. Urgh.

In other words, I am struggling. And I'm feeling a little too Elinor Dashwoodish to feel comfortable going on about it at length.

*sigh* Things really REALLY suck right now.
