Pictures!

Once we received the cancer diagnosis, I immediately decided that we had to have pictures taken. I wanted to have a family portrait done for the Christmas card, but Fiona would be overseas, and Rob will be losing all his hair. We decided to get all our family portraits done in one fell swoop: birthday portraits for the girls, and an anniversary ( Read more... )

When did Fiona chop off her hair? It looks FABULOUS!!!! So sophisticated and grown-up.

I can't believe Delia is going to be a senior. O_o Love her Fashion Maniac shirt. Did she make that?

The red theme looks really rich and lovely on everyone - you'll have exceptionally nice pictures to hand out this year, and the last photo just warms my heart. Corny, yes, but beautiful, too - all that love shines through.

She cut it at the beginning of June. I took pictures. She figured since she was going to England, why not try a change?

Not sure how I missed that, except that I was still in a sling and thus doing everything one-handed. Must've been a few days when I didn't get around to going online. Looked like she had enough to donate? And, seriously, that cut is FANTASTIC on her.

(I remember when you cut your hair from medium to super-short, too!)

I'm 100% with your other hand: I adore "the cancer picture"! I don't see corny or cheesy at all. I see the love and support you mentioned along with a sense of fun and laughter in the face of adversity. Rob's expression is beyond priceless. I see a family, together.

Looking at the Christmas card photo in August feels like I'm cheating. Then again, I had the option of not clicking that link, so it's completely on my head that I looked.

We are totally allowed to like corny things. Things like holding our grandmother's hand as we walk together and telling her bad jokes that we know she will find funny are corny things. Corny things can be wonderful.

It is corny and cheesy, /and yet/ also wonderful. Thank you for showing it to us.

(I don't think I've said; good luck with this entire... process.)

That last picture cracked me up, because of the expression on Rob's face, and then made me teary, because of the expression on yours.

Your girls are absolutely adorable together.

What she said about the last photo. Your eyes and his face with the girls as bookends: totally precious and so much love.
