on cold or snowy days, our priest ropes off the back 4 rows as "too cold".

We keep discussing re-instating pew rents, with the most expensive rows being at the back and the free ones at the very front. It might do something for our budget...

The hardest thing about church for me when Bill and I got married was having to move to the back of the church where he sat, most of the time because he was an usher and helped seat latecomers. I think that there are some of us who like to feel part of the service by sitting up front and some who need the freedom and escape from notice that goes with sitting in the back --- or maybe they just want to be able to escape quickly when the service ends. Peace ----Ellen

is when our beloved 'adopted' daughter is doing the preaching -- she is in college, then will go to seminary to be a United Methodist preacher. So when we go we sit as near to the front as we can.

Haha, you sit in the same place as the Zimmerman family at my church in Grove City! I go to an Episcopalian church in CT (the close Lutheran church is Missouri Synod, not ELCA) and no one sits in the front row because they kneel during confession and there aren't kneelers for the front row!
