Your "drabbles" are always wonderful. For some reason, I especially liked the last one. I wonder what the price would have been. Thanks for posting.

:) Thank you for reading. I always look back at the taxi-cab situation as being deux ex machina - we'll never know what Emily's reaction would have been if she hadn't been struck (which really resolved Andy's dilemma of how to tell Emily of Miranda's change in plans).

Ooh. I love that you brought up the topic of Emily getting hit by the cab. It really was a deus ex machina of the most transparent kind. And what a fascination question...what would have happened?

:D Pick a song and I'll ask Miranda what she would have done... ;)

Fine. #70, please. Extra duck sauce. And no deities in sight :P I have no idea how that fits with the topic (i.e. it doesn't), but that's what I want. Make it so! xD

I second this plan of asking Miranda what the price would have been... Squee.

I love all of these this week. I really liked the quiet time in the elevator. I can't imagine where anyone would find peace in all of Elias-Clark, but the elevator would be it, if you could get it alone.

Today I really like the middle one b/c it shows them together in such a cozy and sure way. Heads together as they watch a performance or look at art together. That melts my heart and the press can stuff it.

And then the price that would have been paid by each had Emily not been hit by a car. What an interesting scenario to explore! Emily was pissed off in any direction from the look of it, but what if she could get around and chase after Andy instead of being in a hospital bed and then on crutches... So many ways to go. Rubs hands together in anticipation.

Hmmm. If you don't mind adding to your list... "Promiscuous Freak" and "Brick Dick." (I have a drabble/mini fic to write for that one for you when the time comes...)

I'm at the point where I think Miranda has glared at me one too many times and she won't divulge what she'd do. But she did mention what would happen to mitigate the 'price paid' so to speak. So I'm going to see whether the piece as written is acceptable or do I need to 'bore' Miranda with more questions again.

44. Promiscuous Freak - DJ Fox pdt_bear May 30 2009, 04:25:53 UTC
Promiscuous Freak - DJ Fox (Rick James Super Freak vs. Nelly Furtado Promiscuous) - for punky_96

Miranda Priestly could name any number of beautiful women that she'd seen in varying degrees of dress; a photoshoot was not the place to try to be modest -- everyone was too caught up in trying to finish the shoot to really ogle anyone for more than a moment. So it came as a bit of a surprise that she had shown any sign of acknowledgment when her second assistant came walking through bedecked in Chanel from top to bottom. Certainly this change was very welcome until Miranda rued the folly of her appreciation.

It was one of those rare occasions that she'd returned back to Runway to retrieve something from her office, which led to the impromptu decision to duck down to the Closet and see the skirts that had been picked up from Calvin Klein (again!) that she realized the space was not as empty as she'd expected it. Flipping through the rack of skirts, she had not been paying atention to the other noises that seemed to be part and parcel of the ( ... )

All of these are witty, thoughtful, lovely and stand on the foundation of introspective glimpses into Andy and Miranda respectively. I love knowing that there is a definite bright side to sharing an elevator with Miranda Priestly. So many things can be conveyed through silence ( ... )

*G*

As ever, your notes are a wonderful way to close off an evening. :)

Twice now, I've written a drabble for Shut Up and Take Me Out and I hoped that they were different enough... :)

I wondered at how people in the public eye live their lives, and I suspect that there's a lot of willfully ignoring the cameras and eyes going on. :)

If'n it's raining critters of the four-legged kind, I'll commission a canoe to be built. :D There are still more prompts to be collected and written before I hang up my resolve on these drabbles. :) My thanks again. :D :D :D
