It was never a matter of "if" but more "when," when Miranda Priestly thought of the times where it had been almost serendipity that placed her at the precipice of making choices that would not only further her own agenda but would also thwart that of another. On the rare occasion, this would also coincide with the whole notion of repaying an unspoken debt that had been owed for far longer than she was comfortable with.
Neither Emily nor Andrea would ever know that had Andrea told Emily about the change in the Paris schedule, Miranda would have balanced the disappointment of Emily by including her in viewing the next seasons Paris Haute Couture events. It was never the same at the Ready-to-Wear shows, but Miranda had contemplated traveling to the London shows this year and knew that Emily's Westwood collection would probably expand by several suitcases at the rate those shoulder widths changed.
