new dentist

I had my 6 month dental cleaning appointment today with a new dentist, Dr. C. My dad sees him so when I was due for my 6 month checkup I thought I'd give him a try. I had been thinking about switching dentists for a while. Dr. K took over our family dentist's practice when he retired a few years ago and, well, I've just stayed with Dr. K ever since ( Read more... )

Congrats with finding a new dentist - that's one of those things I hate about moving frequently - trying to find new docs and a dentist. I had to laugh a little at the 'california' things - I checked out one dentist in San Diego who offered a parafin wax and manicure as part of your appointment. Never had my blood pressure checked. My current dentist is pretty basic and no-nonsense. His staff is great, but it can be a little unsettling when you first have appointments with him because there's never anybody in the waiting room - he only schedules what he can handle. He's also great because he heavily discounts my services since I don't have dental insurance and pay cash.

Yeah, I'm hoping to stay with this dentist for the long haul. The first visit was pleasant, as far as dentist appointments go. ;)

Sounds like you've found a good dentist too. Hope he doesn't plan on retiring soon.

I still can't get over these hand wax/massage/pedicure things at the dentist you guys have in the States.

Me either. It is weird, but nice though. Dr. K (previous dentist) didn't start offering that until they moved into the new office building. He was in a building shared by another dentist.
