In a nutshell:

I had open heart surgery when I was 5. I have regular cardiology check ups to make sure everything is still OK. I need to have heart surgery again.

oh my! I hope things go well! sugery is never fun, but since alot of time has passed I am sure that they have made great strides! :)

do you have insurance to cover it? staying in a hospital can get really pricey...

I do have insurance, but apparently it's very narrow and selective as to which doctors I'm allowed to see. Apparently, I was not allowed to see my cardiologist last week. I'm currently fighting that, as he is one of maybe 5 doctors who are familiar with what I have.

It's a bunch of bullshit, really.

yup, don't I know it. I had out of pocket insurance, and I could only see my doctor 4 times a year and they were limited to what they would pay, it was usually very little. I am glad for what I have now with hubby, b/c when I had to go the hospital the bills were mighty! They just make it cheap and affordable but then when you go see the doctor you see the real value. I bet even other car insurance is like that. you get what you pay for.

that is stupid. just say if I didn't see my cardiologist, I would have died. how's that?!
