The weather was better, so I biked to work again, my band got a gig for Friday night, and I go Tuesday to make my pitch at another school, in addition to tomorrow, which is my very first pitch of this era. Here's to hope.

In this case, continuing the great telemarketing drive, though with less success. And no further bites at work, which bites...it's a slog, and I know it, but I still wanna be a successful and in demand private teacher NAOW :P On brighter notes, my new printer showed up, and it seems to be everything I want, and I got a bunch of cleaning done. Tomorrow I have two new students, which is awesome. Today...my printer continued its long, slow expiration, and I've started research into its replacement. It's a shame-my little Deskjet 960c has been with me for about 12 years or so now, and it's been a workhorse through thick and thin. It just conks out randomly now, which is poo.

I got my first student at work today. High school junior, already experienced at flute, and she signed up for an hour, on a day that doesn't conflict with my retail schedule. I am highly excited, and it got me thinking-while obviously I'd take a band directing job in a heartbeat, working music store retail is the perfect place to recruit students ( Read more... )
