Some Good News, With A Side Of An Idea
I got my first student at work today. High school junior, already experienced at flute, and she signed up for an hour, on a day that doesn't conflict with my retail schedule. I am highly excited, and it got me thinking-while obviously I'd take a band directing job in a heartbeat, working music store retail is the perfect place to recruit students, especially now that I'm on the official teacher's list. If I can recruit a few more students, it might actually be worth sticking it out until I can transition more away from retail, and certainly the extra money won't hurt :) In other words, this just might be an opportunity after all.
