. So this is an entirely 'By Parlophone, Aged Twelve' type of post, but from the instant I read Prisoner of Azkaban, I had a mental image of Sirius in my head.
Marat, unlike his sister, is cute. She is a bit too well padded and, I don't know, massive? a sportswoman for my tastes. You've chosen some pretty sexy pics of him.
I am not a big fan of tennis but I do watch the Grand Slam tournaments whenever I can. I hope whoever you are rooting for wins. I no longer have favourites, I just watch and enjoy a good match.
OK, but be forewarned that you might end up with having all your understanding of Japanese turned upside down. Also, feel free to correct my mistakes (though that migh take decades with the amount of what I don't know.
(I use honorifics out of sheer habit, but you never have to worry about doing that with me, okay?)
I just checked, and the raw of Tōma no Shinzō I have, all the kanji have furigana! (So I hope yours does too.) And the doki-doki team, I haven't checked, but you're saying that the status is 'near completion'? (Oh, I hope the translation will be good. I can't remember who did Vol 1 of Poe no Ichizoku, but they were not fluent English speakers.)
I'm terrible for poking fun at Dinara, but I'm actually v v fond of her:)
It's not too late to watch Wimbledon, it's still only the first week. And you can always record the nightly Today at Wimbledon, or the repeats the following morning, Yesterday at Wimbledon, if you just want to catch the highlights.
The gorgeous photos in Gossymer's journal made me swoon (I esp liked the smoking pic) but he definitely reminds me of Boyd Holbrook, whose fame as brain-pic!Draco was spread by geoviki throughout H/D fandom when she put him on the cover of her A Thousand Beautiful Things in 2004.
I've had 'my own' Draco since I first started reading HD slash, but unfortunately, I've had to age him up in my head these last few years :D (I'll edit to add his photo, along with Viki's ATBT!Draco in this post.)
I'm not familiar with Stardust, but I do remember Mark Strong v vividly from a v entertaining BBC drama The Long Firm, adapted from Jake Arnott's book. It's set in the late 60's, and Mark Strong plays a v charismatic, gay gangster. (In one scene, he's being sucked off under his desk by a young rentboy I thought I'd
( ... )
My problem is that I've watched the movies before reading the books, and while Draco was easily replaced, Harry wasn't so much. At least up to PoA. After that, I didn't really like Dan as Harry.
Hee! He's pretty close to my brain-pic of Sirius, too! (Except, you know, cleaner and less haggard.)
Gina McKee! I've thought in the past that Claudia Black (she's halfway there with the name, anyway) would make a cracking Bellatrix, but that's just been superseded, I think. :D
I had to whittle down from a choice of about 200 pics I'd hoarded. There were some where he looks v dirty and disreputable, and perhaps I should have chosen one of those :) I don't know if you follow tennis at all, but let's just say, he's the living, breathing antithesis of 'Tiger' Tim Henman (LOL)
Ooh, Claudia Black, she's pretty. But lazlet's Bellatrix was so firmly entrenched in my brain, I was outraged when we got Helena Bonham Carter instead. HBC is so... kitsch. She can do stark ravers mad, but not quiet evil/menace.
As much as I usually like HBC, she really did herself no favours with Bellatrix! Too bonkers! She would have been much better had she toned it down. Gina McKee, however, would have been perfect! [I could actually see, Claudia Black in the role, though, as she does manic nuttiness really well and can be very saturnine when she wants.)
Well, the last pic is Sirius-like enough, I suppose: movie!Sirius's tattoos and mad look :DDD
Siriusly though (couldn't help it, sorry!) the only time I imagined an actor as a character of my favourite prose was Ioan Gruffud (sp) for an original novel of one of my fave HP writers (tsss).
Whut. I keep it under control quite well on the whole, I think :) But if you were a Real Friend, you'd clip out the Mapat articles in the Russian newspapers/mags and send them to mee ;_;
What do you think of my Dinara Crabbe character (Vincent's Not-So-Little sister)? (*points up*) Do you think they'd let me join HP Dungeons and play alongside Draco and Severus? :DD

P.S. Thanks for friending me.

I cheered like mad for Dinara during the Roland Garros final, but yes, sometimes it's hard to believe she's related to Marat.
If I were into RPG, I'd use her pic and call myself Dinara Crabbe.

That one where he's glowering at the camera could have come straight from a 'Wanted: Azkaban Escapee' poster, no?
