Jo was going to be the tough one, and the one he had probably hurt more than anything else out of all of them. With Dean he might have to do a bit more explaining regarding castle shenanigans, but with Jo -- he'd screwed up. He really, really screwed up.

Which means he knew that she wasn't going to respond if he left her a message in the journal. If he wanted to do this, he had to do it in person, so that was what he did. He made his way down to the Lux late Friday night, and waited for Jo to finish closing up. He didn't go inside -- he wasn't going to do that until he knew that things were better, but instead he hung in the doorway and waited for her to come out to leave.

Jo had plans with Chase that night. The dog. Just to be clear. She had promised him that morning that he'd get a bath tonight, which for some strange reason got him really excited. It could be that he mistook bath for something else. She wasn't going to correct him, because he was a dog.

Hey, speaking of dogs -- Jo walked out of the Lux after her shift and spotted Sam almost immediately. He's sort of the hunkering, lumbering, Yeti-type person. He would be impossible to miss.

Instead of acknowledging him, Jo just kept on walking, right past him.

He watched her brush past him, and as he did his eyes closed with a sigh. This might be even harder than he thought. He waited a beat, considering that maybe it would be best to give her some more time to cool off, but considering that conversation was months ago, and he still hadn't made it right yet, he knew waiting was not going to help.

He turned on his heel and started to walk after her, catching up to her in a few quick strides -- long legs can be helpful on occasion. "Jo, wait." He started to reach for her arm. "Can we talk?"

Her breath exhaled sharply through her nose as she tried to shrug away from his reach. She didn't stop walking, but she figured she wasn't going to be able to lose him, especially since he knew where she was headed.

"Fine, talk. I'm not going to stop for some little chat, Sam." Which is why she's still walking.

Sam still had no idea what he was going to say to Faith.

He liked Faith. He liked her the last time she was here, and when she showed up here, younger and a bit more volatile, he was surprised, but he rolled with it. She reminded him a lot of Dean, and a bit of himself, and he ...

Honestly, he wasn't sure what he wanted to do. It was nothing that he could ever articulate to her, because he wasn't entirely sure she'd understand it, but there was a part of him that wanted to help her, and that part still did. He just needed to figure out how to fix the damage he'd done when that part of him had gone away for a little while.

She was his first stop that morning, and as he made his way up to w/ Benefits, he knocked on the door frame as he opened it, hoping he wasn't walking in on anything.

"Faith?"

Faith was drinking. It wasn't too late in the day, but she had a bottle out and a glass on the counter that was half-full. For the most part she was just sitting on the counter skimming the contents of the journal.

When she heard her name, she slid off the bar and leaned up against the bar. She grinned at him, pushing off the bar and starting to head over toward him.

"Hey, stranger."

"Hey," he said with a nod. At least she seemed happy to see him. He had a feeling that that wasn't going to be easy to explain in any sense of the word, but he kept his hands in his pockets and stayed on task. "You busy?"

Faith kept moving, until she was right up near him, smirking up at him.

"Since when do you ask?" Her hands immediately go to tug at his shirt, clearly her thoughts on what this meeting was about was slightly skewed.

Sam had spent three days digging all the leaves out of the Impala. If he didn't want Dean to kick his ass, his car had to look like it was cherry, and while Kaylee wasn't around to help him out like she usually was, he knew enough to make sure she would at least run if Dean started the car.

He dug out the leaves, watched her down until she shone, and when he was satisfied, he left a message for his brother to meet him with directions to where. If Dean was still pissed, then that was his loss.

More beer and pie for Sam.

As far as gay shit his brother did, leaving him a note with some mysterious directions pretty much topped the list. Screw that their dad had done the same thing and received about zero flack for it. This was Sam, Dean had to take the shots at him being a sissy where he could get them.

Still. Like the good brother he was (even if Sam wasn't) he followed 'em, heading down to where Sam's directions led and ducked his head in the door, glancing around before he went in for some kind of sign for where this was going.

"Sam, I'm telling you, we have gotta get you out of that pie shop. It's startin' to -- " He stopped when he caught sight of the Impala. Well, if his little bro was looking for ways to brighten his day ... This made for a damn good apology. He shut up promptly, pacing towards her and running a hand over the hood to examine more closely the way she seemed to glow.

The look on his face would make you think he was happier to see his car than he'd been to see his brother.

Sam was used to coming second to the car. He was pretty sure that Dean was never going to love anything or anyone the way he loved the Impala, so he just shook his head with a smile, and passed him a beer.

"And I thought you would appreciate the pie shop. All the free pie you can eat."

There was a beat as he continued to watch his brother with the car, before raising an eyebrow. "Do I need to give you two a minute?"

So the fact that Sam was a lightweight isn't anything new for anyone, but an afternoon of beers with his brother wasn't enough to make him sloppy, just pleasantly buzzed. Things still weren't perfect, or completely fixed, but they were better and Sam was feeling a little less awkward in his place in the castle.

He made his way back to the room with the dogs, sitting down on the edge of the bed when he realized that there was one person he still hadn't talked to as of yet. It had been a long time since he'd seen him, and he needed to do it now, before he forgot.

"Cas?" he said softly, unsure if praying to him was still going to work here. If he didn't show up soon, he'd use the journal, but this was what was coming naturally. "You around?"

It took Castiel a while after hearing the prayer to really register where it was coming from because of being cut off by the castle. He had to walk to the room and when he got there he opened the door with no concern for knocking or announcing his arrival.

When Castiel walked in, Sam wasn't surprised by the unannounced arrival. It was the walking. He popped up from where he was sitting, his head tipping to the side as he watched him.

"Did you just use the door?"

He drops his glance immediately. Castiel doesn't like a very natural part of him being removed like this.

"Yes." A beat. He's eager to move from that topic. "What did you need?"
