Who:Fred, Cordy, Harmony, Elektra, Kaylee and Pinkie Pie What:A night for the girls to relax and unwind When:Thursday Night Where:Caritas Rating:DD for definitely drunk??
Cordelia hasn't had a sleepover since high school. Possibly even before.
But this wasn't a sleepover. Not necessarily. This was a group of women getting together and having tequila in an empty bar. But where there was tequila, there needed to be precautions.
So there were pajamas. There were sleeping bags. There was food so that they didn't make themselves sick. Cordy was probably a boy scout in another life, but right now, she was just looking to have fun -- no holds barred, simple, non-supernatural fun.
Elektra couldn't look more out of place if she tried. Sleepovers weren't exactly her thing. This was mostly because she had never been to one before. She hadn't exactly indulged in drunken nights with the girls either. Again this was mostly because she never had female friends until she came here.
Really if she thought about it this was all a bad idea. She was better suited to be hanging out at the shooting range or spending the evening in her room going over sales or training.... but Fred had asked her to come.
So here she was trying her best to seem natural in this environment. Talking seemed like a very good first step. "The pajamas look very comfortable."
"They are," Cordy said with a grin as she turns to face her, before pulling out a set that was a different color than the ones Cordy and Fred were wearing. Red -- instinct told her that it was Elektra's color, or maybe it was Fred -- but regardless, Elektra had PJs.
She takes them. Red was in fact her color. Elektra almost was flattered Cordelia caught that until it occurred to her she may have to actually wear them.
"Thank you." She frowns. There had to be a polite way out of this but, it wasn't coming to her. "It's going to be just us, right?"
She could only imagine what someone like Oliver would say if she was running around in poodle pajamas. Not that she cared about his or anyone else's opinion. Really.
Later in the evening...yeahihidmypantsSeptember 19 2011, 03:28:24 UTC
Oliver was on patrol, but he'd mostly been keeping to the business section of the city. There had been a few bouts of random break-ins lately and he wasn't sure if it was just castle residents getting bored or if it was really something to look into.
Regardless, he's not going to just abandon the businesses for the higher levels of crime - like murder and random vampire attacks.
Of course, when he nears Caritas he hears sound and considering he thought the bar was supposed to be closed, he's wondering if someone thought to take advantage of the change in ownership. The girls are friends of his, so he decided to take a closer look at what was going on in the bar.
Elektra had a couple of drinks by then. Not enough to impair her too much. Even while trying to socialize at a party she was still had to feel in control and know her surroundings. It was impossible to do that if she really let go to keep up with the other girls.
Every so often she'd pause briefly to focus on the outside when someone passed a little close to the bar. Most went through quickly enough so Elektra doubted anyone really noticed her spacing out for a few seconds...
Only it would be more than a few seconds this time since the passerby seemed to be getting closer rather than further away from the bar.
Frowning, he moved around the building. It was probably nothing, but on the off-chance that it was something he wanted to be sure.
The sounds were definitely coming from the bar and from all outward appearances it was meant to be closed. The usual hum of activity usually spilled out onto the street, but here it was definitely closed up.
Which made the sounds even more interesting. Maybe unusual, but either way Oliver opted to move closer.
Elektra frowns. She was regretting having anything to have at all now. She couldn't clearly see just who she was dealing with. All she knew there was someone closing in on them. If she were alone it would have made her just a little anxious but, there was no doubts she could handle it. While she here with Fred and these other women... Well she didn't like taking her chances when people she was fond of were around.
Elektra stands up and quietly excuses herself for some air. She quietly pads through the bar and out the nearest exit. Thanks to the wardrobe changes she's down her usual weapons but, she's confident she'll be able to to get to whoever it was before they noticed her.
With her luck this was probably Spider-Man just making a nuisance of himself. She'll just chide herself for being paranoid enough to be lurking outside at this hour on a vague premonition.
much later into the night... mildly directed at fred but, feel free to chime in!likethetragedySeptember 30 2011, 22:31:27 UTC
Knowing there was someone else keeping an eye out for danger got her to loosen up finally. Elektra had lost count of the drinks (strange since she normally found comfort in counting) and started to enjoy herself. For the first time in years, she felt like her old self before things had taken a downturn.
Not that she was thinking about that now for once. Another very welcome change. Instead, she's shifting her gaze over to Fred and letting her curiosity get the best of her. "I think I read somewhere that talking about boys is part of the big sleepover experience." She pauses to think about that for a second. "I don't know for sure. This is my first." She admits with a casual shrug. Yes, she's doing casual now. "So are you going to tell me about Wesley? That's the boy who is always keeping an eye on you. He seems like a good start."
The groups have all naturally migrated down into smaller, less expected gatherings. There's meeting and talking and drinking and overall, Fred can't help but be more than a bit pleased by the outcome of the evening. Clearly they'd all needed this.
Now she's sitting at the bar alone, keeping company with the occasional shot of tequila. She's just finished another, and is currently occupied with the pleasurable distraction of turning the small shot glass over in her hands. It catches and mutes the colored lights of the bar, and her thoughts can't help cut stray to moonlight on a lake. Moonlight and...
Elektra's voice cuts through, landing squarely on Fred's own thoughts. The unexpectedness of it catches Fred, causing her to drop the glass. It lands with a loud clunk, rolling listlessly on the bar.
Elektra watches with roll away with mild interest. She isn't really sure what the other woman is referring to in all honesty. That isn't going to stop her from playing along. Tonight was supposed to be about fun, right?
"Mystical ninja powers," Elektra says seriously. She reaches over to catch that glass before it falls off completely.
Fred looks up, meeting Elektra's gaze. There's something steadying about it -- something not completely unexpected. But even as everything else in the room's just starting to drift? She's...there.
"You'll have to let me know when we get to that lesson in training. Because honestly I'm just a bit jealous right now]
She blinks, trying to clear her thoughts.
"Wesley is...Wesley." Her fingers feel empty without the glass, and curl slightly.
At another unspecified time after Oliver's been allowed a pair of pajama bottoms...yeahihidmypantsOctober 19 2011, 00:50:16 UTC
He's been properly ogled and he's had a few drinks. All the while, catching a glance at Elektra now and again. Eventually, after she'd seemingly finished her talk with Fred, he wandered on over toward her. His hand lightly brushed to her elbow, trying to catch her attention.
"You know, I didn't mean to interrupt all the girl's night stuff. I was just concerned. Not that I mind being witness to this, but I do feel like I made you break some unwritten girl-code."
Elektra turns to him and laughs. "Look you're not the only one. I was convinced someone would try to pull something tonight. It's how I found you in the first place." She's missing the point for the moment.
"Oh right. The girl code." There. Now she has it. "To be honest I don't really know it. If I broke some kind of rule I'm sure one of them will tell me later. Besides..." She leans in as if telling a secret. "I think they're pretty happy to have you here. The outfit change may have played a part in it."
When she leans in, he takes a breath inward, drawing it in deep and slowly because he honestly values all these moments. It's Elektra, sure, but it's more honest, more vulnerable than he often sees her. There's no loss, no castle invading into her life and making her a stranger. It's just her.
It reminds him of those moments when Helen would be in their life. Once a year, but if hanging out with these girls gave Elektra this feeling more often, Oliver was a firm believer in supporting it. He didn't have to witness it to like it.
He catches the end of what she's saying, smirking as he lifts his arm to pretend to cover himself up a bit. "As much as I'm not fond of how often the castle seems to rid me of my shirts, I think I'll appreciate the days where people actually want to see me with my shirt off. One day I'll get old and no one'll want that at all."
Elektra shakes her head. She's amused by the idea there could be a time for that. "We don't get old here. Your shirtless state will always be in high demand," Elektra gently reminds him. "Even if we did, I wouldn't feel that way. Older men can be very attractive. I'm not just saying that to make you feel better."
She waves a hand casually. "It's the truth. Papa was very handsome even in his sixties... hair loss aside." For once it doesn't even occur to her to feel sad about bringing her father up. Elektra is just lost in the moment. It feels so nice just to talk to Oliver without constantly worrying about danger or what to withhold because it hurts too much to bring up. Normally she wouldn't even mention 'Papa' much less joke about him. "I'm sure that won't happen to you."
