Yeah, funny thing about this whole thing. Seifer was gonna be hanging out with Selphie - AKA Messenger Girl (though, damn, the insisting she did that he DID NOT CALL HER THAT) - here. Selphie Tilmitt, kids. In case you weren't paying attention in class that day, here's the recap: the girl is pretty much everything Seifer isn't. A social butterfly. Hyper. Someone who's never had an alcoholic beverage in her life, apparently

Selphie was well aware that the only thing she and Seifer had in common was Garden. And he wasn't even a SeeD! But hey, she and Squall had very little in common too, and they got along just fine--and this was going off of him not remembering her at all, so they really didn't even have the whole Ultimecia ordeal to chat about. It had been awkward at first, but now they were pretty good friends.
Not that she was totally set on becoming best buddies with Seifer or anything. She just thought being friendlier to him would be good... especially since he had that little fight with the stairs earlier and had lost. Rinoa said he remembered things, but... he acted nice enough.
Hearing a familiar voice, Selphie turned towards it, smiling. Sure, she was a little nervous, but her smile didn't show that at all. "Hi, Seifer!" She greeted, "I almost thought you might not show for a second there."
Never did he think he was going to be drinking with Tilmitt. Or... anyone from that crew, really. Then again, different world, different situation, right? That reminded him ... he still had to apologize to her for what he'd done when Ultimecia had fucked with him. Yeah, that bitch had sure done a number on him, manipulating him to do all sorts of terrible things. Then again, he wasn't all that innocent, since there was a part of him that was willing to take on the role of knight in the first place

Selphie liked to look for the best in people, and she liked to believe that Seifer just got waaaaay in over his head with Ultimecia. There was no way he would REALLY try to hurt her and the others, right? He had some sort of rivarly thing with Squall, and they two had scarred each other (she thought that was kind of cool, really), but... if they hadn't beaten him down, would he really have killed them?
... probably not the best thing to think about when she was going to hang out with him.
She followed after Seifer, ignoring his comment about having nothing better to do. He was lucky he was able to hang out with such a cute girl like herself! "Yeah? Well... I don't see why not, it's not like I had anything to do, either!"
Though there were more than enough reasons why not to hang out with Seifer, Selphie was too busy trying to keep up with his longer stride. Tall people!
Seifer still really couldn't get over that. The part where she had nothing better to do, that is. She was super-buddy-buddy with Leonhart, right? And how about Rinoa? Irvine? He wasn't sure about the latter two, but he'd caught a few exchanges between her and Squall. They seemed close. So, revisiting that ... why wasn't she off bugging him?
Or maybe it was just that. Spending too much time with Squall probably had the same effect as living near a nuclear power plant; sooner or later it's gonna mess you up. In this particular case, she was probably getting tired of his "..." and "whatever" and wanted some kind of change. Possibly. Who knew? Come to think of it, who really cared?
That kitchen was getting closer and closer. It was only a few steps away. For him, that is. Double or triple that for Short Legs Selphie. As he came to it and turned the corner to enter, he asked, "So you've got the dog yet, don't you?" ... his question containing 50% less interest than she would get from her real friends. Only reason he was asking in the

Hanging out with Squall wasn't always easy. Selphie could attest to that. Sometimes he took innocent comments too personally, or got annoyed at stupid little things and then wouldn't say what was wrong, or got all huffy over a Triple Triad game. He could be an insensitive ass, and had one time angered Selphie so badly she had thrown something at him--and that took talent.
For some reason Selphie stuck around, perhaps because she hoped that someone would do the same for her if she forgot all of her friends. And underneath all the ellipses and whatevers, he was a good guy.
And Selphie was sure that Seifer, deep down, was a good guy, too.
"Yep! But I think I tired Pickle out," Selphie said with a smile that one could have expected from a parent. Yes, Selphie Tilmitt was able to wear out even a puppy made of pure, undiluted energy. She entered the kitchen and looked around--it was empty. Which was a little weird. She kind of missed the ghosts. She then remembered they were talking about her puppy. "I'll have to show her to you one day
