BREAKFAST ad_aeternitatem June 16 2011, 15:14:16 UTC
[Breakfast is a feast: thin strips of venison, fresh tomatoes from the garden, a plethora of foreign berries in all shapes and sizes, and juice made from the fruits from the trees in Lente's orchard. Eat and make merry, residents.]

[He might recognize the voice when she speaks, though. It's pretty distinctive. As is the smile she greets him with, but he wouldn't know that yet.]

Greetings. I hope you have rested well.

[What's so shocking, man? But now that he's given her a few more words than "hi," she's able to place his voice too.]

John, is it not?

I am glad it was not overly trying for you; the division of the group did trouble me somewhat, but we were hardly in a position to negotiate. [And she'll only say that after very subtly making sure Lente's not in earshot. No point in offending one's host, after all.] For my part, I was quite comfortable.

And you as well. In truth, there was more discussion than aught else and not as much of as profitable as I would have liked. You missed very little.

No, nothing of great importance, unfortunately. I believe we will have more opportunity later today.

[ooc: I don't think there is anything, but if I missed something due to computer issues, feel free to assume she told him.]

[You people and your slang.] Indeed, it would. But I do not think that will be the case, for even if we are told very little, we have already seen much.

[ooc: Don't worry about it!]

[She really shouldn't talk about confusing people with speech patterns.]

Indeed. I do wonder if they are native only to this world or if they exist elsewhere, but it may well be we will never know.

You assume that they would be made aware of these things. I know I have little knowledge of the wildlife that has been encountered on expeditions before my arrival, beyond that which posed a large enough threat to merit inclusion in summaries of the trip. Unless such information is made more widely available, it would be difficult for anyone make the necessary identifications.
