[Rise and shine, residents. Nothing like the thrill of the hunt to get you going in the morning.
The gist of it is simple enough: further south an hour or so, there are deer. Giant deer. Great, massive deer. They're springy and slender as a normal deer might be, but they are also toweringly tall, like elephants. The males have antlers that resemble trees. Any resident who might be useful is invited to help with the hunt: after all, it is breakfast they're after, and how often do you get to hunt giant deer?
Lente mostly keeps watch, hanging back to observe them and oversee what they're doing without giving much input beyond general instructions of where they're going and what they're hunting. Maybe this is a different sort of test.]
[Despite having come along with her quiver and bow, Daine is staying back as well. Whether or not she's near Lente, the young woman doesn't mind. She's just here to... well, she's not entirely sure.]
[Ray came along, mostly because there's no way he's missing this. he doesn't have any weapons, but he'll stand near the two women and gawk up at the deer]
Wow...! I could probably still remember how to rig a trip wire or a snare trap, but ... I doubt I'd be able to make one big enough.
[Breakfast is a feast: thin strips of venison, fresh tomatoes from the garden, a plethora of foreign berries in all shapes and sizes, and juice made from the fruits from the trees in Lente's orchard. Eat and make merry, residents.]
[River had helped with breakfast. Her large knife had come in handy in cutting out the massive deer meat. Now she was enjoying the spoils along with everyone else. She seemed especially fond on the berries, her lips stained bright red from the juices]
[Five wasn't allowed inside to help prepare the feast, but he could at least help prepare the dining area, as it were. once he's sure everything is settled, he fixes himself a plate and slides in to one side of River]
[River smiles at the fifth Doctor slides his plate next to hers. Here she was, practically a complete stranger to him, and he still seemed drawn to her. Fate had a strange sense of humor, even here in this dimension]
Not at all. How are you enjoying the expedition so far?
[After breakfast its down to the lake to bathe. The rocky edge of the lake does well enough, and in the area tucked under where Lente's Point overlooks, there's a small but still high waterfall where a creek meets it. Splash around, have some fun?
Lente's still hanging back to watch, but don't worry: she promises storytelling can come later.]
[She's sitting on a rock just in front and to the side of the waterfall. She's stripped down to her undergarments and only kept those because she's learned many seem to take issue with nudity. Tiny beads of water cling to her hair like a thin mist. If anyone believed the kohl-like markings on her face were simply drawn on, here's your proof they're not. While she's stil disturbed by her very mortal self at the moment, she's laughing. Healthy, running water has that effect.]

He's still fully clothed himself, looking a bit tired from his night of sleeplessness, but so much more at peace.]
