Reading a little about this holiday, it looks like today is the day traditionally spent worshiping the Gods. [A pause.] Whichever ones you happen to be familiar with, of course

There's a big difference between apologizing and worshiping, but a little flattery can make a big difference. [She chuckles a bit.] Yes, it is, but there are also many similarities.

[She pauses, wording her answer carefully.] Not on a regular basis, no. I have encountered them much more often than most, though.

Or Her, whomever strikes your fancy.

[Daine's tone is one of amusement now as she tries to suppress some laughter.] No, they haven't, and I don't have the Gift. Things have been a little unusual for me, though.

That tone doesn't sound promising.

[You're expecting this one to sound positive?]

It isn't that, my lady. I've only just arrived and find this whole situation disquieting. I am not sure what a person will do with the knowledge that I have stood in the presence of deities, or why it is that they ask.

It's a way to get conversation. Sometimes asking questions can help you find people who have things in common with you.

I haven't much interest in them, and the opposite seems to be true. [which was one of the reasons why she didn't get involved in all that nonsense with the myriad of gods on the mountain -- just not her thing] But I have witnessed them in action.

Hm, many from my world would think that first part a blessing, ironic as that sounds.

Indeed. From my point of view, your gods seem bothersome to have around.

And yes, I've had the [dubious] honour of being present when certain gods manifested their presences.

[Daine prickles a bit at the first statement.] That's hardly fair.
