Probably. Two years in this place has been pretty numbing, let alone however long they were stuck here. It seems almost sad to hang around here forever, waiting for something.

Do you really think the castle would leave them laying around somewhere, though? So many people have been in and out over the past few years, I'd be surprised if the castle left something that could have ANSWERS laying around.

No kidding...

So the castle just has a giant stockpile of stuff that it doesn't want us to find, and saves it for when we 'need' it?

Maybe. It's the castle. I don't see why we'd ever "need" them, though.

Well, it decided that we needed its help last week.

[ Hmm. Hmmm! Good questions. Over le journal: ]

Maybe they did. I think the longest-running of the people still living here is about four years...after that, most anyone would be likely to not want to be around any longer.

If it hasn't brought them back by now, I'd imagine they've managed to break its hold...or it doesn't want them anymore. It's quite the question.

Well maybe they can just ignore the castle pulling them to go back? They've been gone so long, it's like they're free of the castle's influence.

Perhaps. But do you think the castle would just give up on them like that?

Why not? If it can get endless people from endless worlds... we must be like ants to it.

[ hrm, he thinks about this. if they came back? his thoughts jump to joy and her being shot down by those asshats in the iron suits.

akihiko would punch... them. >:| ]

I wonder, when we head out there we can feel the pull of the castle, this urge to go back. What about those guys? Or have they just grown immune to it?

All those clues found when Slenderman was kidnapping the kids, some of them were journal entries, right? Maybe the library might have something.

Maybe it's just like anything that you've had to deal with for a long time. Maybe for the first year or so it was hard, but now they can just ignore it? Or I wonder... if you go far enough, does it go away completely?

Exactly, I'm going to look around when I have spare time.

Far enough... I suppose we can ask Reno Browne on that and maybe about the journals too if we can get a hold of her.

If I actually made a filter to her, what do you think are the chances that she'll respond?

I wonder about the pull of the castle, too. Does that ever go away? Do any of the people not feel that, if they've been out and around longer than Zexion? I thought he mentioned still feeling the pull, just that you ignore it better over time -- but I'm not sure.

That would make sense. Although I wonder, is it like a honing signal? It sounds like the castle can't really influence people more than that while keeping things here smooth. So maybe if you went far enough, maybe you could escape that too?

You could say it's like a honing signal, yes. You always know where the castle is, even if you can't see it. It's one way to navigate even if you're not sure about directions or your location once you're past the mountain range nearest the castle.

I wonder about getting past it. I'd love to ask Zexion again, or any of the First Generation willing to speak with us.

I'm thinking my next step will be to filter a message to them. Rin said they don't like talking to us... but maybe if we ask the right kind of questions, we'll get their attention?

That's an idea... Although I wonder if the castle would just get rid of the spare journals once their owners leave.

Yeah... or, what happens to the stuff that people own when they leave? Can you leave stuff behind?

kindnessing March 14 2011, 08:18:55 UTC
... Mm. You can. I don't know how much of that is up to the individual, though.

So what makes something worth saving in the castle's eyes?
