That's an idea... Although I wonder if the castle would just get rid of the spare journals once their owners leave.

Yeah... or, what happens to the stuff that people own when they leave? Can you leave stuff behind?

... Mm. You can. I don't know how much of that is up to the individual, though.

So what makes something worth saving in the castle's eyes?

... Things of sentimental value, I'd guess. [...] I was left an item from a friend, and although I don't know how much use it'll be to me, it's... good to have around.

Maybe will has to do with it. If you really want something to be left behind, maybe it happens.

Hmm... Then, I suppose it'd come down to whether it's the person leaving or the person left behind who matters more in this case. Or perhaps it's a combination of both.

Maybe they both help? Or if someone really wants to leave something behind, then the recipient doesn't even need to work for it.

That's a possibility... But I suppose the only way to figure it out would be to test it. And that would be... difficult, to say the least.

No kidding. [hmm....] Well, if we tell people about it, we'll see what happens? Maybe it'll help.

Perhaps it will. It's worth a try.
